While Jon Allen might be the new CEO, Jon’s no stranger to Water for Good,

as he has been working for Water for Good for 11 years.

the man behind the Chief Executive Officer title.

Originally from the southwestern desert of Arizona, Jon moved to Pittsburgh, Penn., to work in youth ministry, which is where he met his wife, Bekah. The couple then moved to Raleigh, N.C., to escape the cold and start classes at North Carolina State University. Jon majored in Business Administration with a concentration in supply chain management.

For the last 15 years, Jon and Bekah have enjoyed traveling to the mountains and coasts of North Carolina. They spend a lot of time outside with their boys, Keegan, 9,  and Basil, 6. Jon specifically enjoys trail riding with Keegan, who is getting quite quick on the mountain bike! Each summer, the family also makes sure to schedule a few water balloon fights because they are one of Basil’s favorite things to do. Bekah, lovingly referred to as “the better half,” describes Jon as being a positive person, great at supporting his family and a decent cook.

by his pastor at Hope Community Church, Mike Lee. Over coffee, Jon shared that he was hoping to find a way to pair his degree with a nonprofit in order to help with efficiency. After learning about Water for Good Founder Jim Hocking and the Water for Good mission, Jon was on board.

Our new CEO was first drawn to Water for Good because of his heart for others. You see, the people in the Central African Republic have had very little support compared to most of the developing world. He deeply believes in marginalized people getting opportunities to improve their situation and their children’s future.

Although there are many initiatives Jon is excited about, he is most looking forward to helping with the growth of solar-powered water tanking systems. Although that process is complex, both technically and socially, he believes these systems will be more financially viable over time.  We are excited to see how Jon uses his God-given talents to serve the people of the Central African Republic!
